SeaRose Studio, the home, studio and gallery of British Columbia artist Yvonne Maximchuk is located near Echo Bay, on the shore of Gilford Island in the Broughton Archipelago, east of Port McNeill, Vancouver Island. Yvonne paints sea- and landscapes, portraits and wildlife in acrylic and watercolor; and offers lessons, art workshops and art retreats.
Art retreat guests stay from (minimum) three to seven days. The instructional program is tailored to individual goals. Here you can explore and develop painting or ceramic skills, throwing, hand building, classic and crystalline glaze techniques and firing procedures. Guests can also devise a 'sampler' workshop to investigate a variety of artistic media for self-expression. Identify your artistic goals and co-craft with Yvonne a curriculum to achieve them.
Watercolor, acrylic painting, drawing, collage; workshop choices are unlimited and, include in-studio or on location painting on one of the many scenic islands - weather permitting. Often killer whales or humpbacks go by the house and we drop everything to go take a look. We are friendly to every sort of individual or couple. Life is beautiful at SeaRose Studio !

$385.00 per person per day. Guests must all choose the same program, i.e. all doing pottery or acrylic or watercolor at the same time. I cannot be in two places at once. Or chose a "sampler" workshop where we investigate a variety of artistic media. We are friendly to every sort of individual or couple.

Travel to SeaRose Studio
Visitors to SeaRose Studio can fly from Port Hardy to Echo Bay (Thursday only on the mail plane) via Wilderness Air, or Kenmore Air from Seattle in the summer season. Transportation costs are the guests responsibility, although we will help you to organize and book. There are several water taxi options
to chose to and from Port McNeill .
Please call us for more detailed information about getting here and we will
do all we can to help you. Windy weather can be a complicating factor from
time to time, which only adds to excitement to your wilderness art retreat! Be sure to allow two or three days before and after your booking to allow for travel plans to be complicated by weather.
